In today's article I will explain you about how to link Aadhaar to your mobile.It is a aGovernment of India directive.The Indian governing has made it mandatory to link your Aadhaar to your mobile number.It is important and you need to follow this guideline as if you don't do so, you sim will get deactivated.
It is compulsory for all users and all telecom companies are already acknowledged with this advisory and order of the government of India.

As per the government directive, linking Aadhaar to your mobile number is mandatory for all existing customers.

Now, question is how you can do it.So, I am asking here most commonly asked questions.


   Things to remember :- If you have sim card of airtel,  then you have to contact to airtel retailer & if you have Vodafone sim, then you have to go to vodafone's retailer shop.It  means you have to contact to concern retailer to complete this process.

This is essential to complete the biometric verification which is a mandatory step of this process.

📱 Q.1 What is Government’s directive regarding Aadhaar updation for mobile connection?

As per the recent government directive, all the existing customers have to link Aadhaar with their Mobile numbers.

📱 Q.2 By when do I need to link my Aadhaar card with mobile number?

I recommend you complete this process as soon as possible. However, last date known till today for the same is 6th Feb 2018.But, it's not necessary that govt.keep it.It may be changed.

📱Q.3 What documents are required to complete the process?

All you need is your Aadhaar card/number and your Mobile. You will be required to complete biometric verification. You will also receive the verification code (OTP) on your Mobile that would be required to complete the process.

📱Q.4  What if I don’t link my Mobile with Aadhaar?

In case you don’t complete the process before 6th Feb 18, services on your mobile number might get restricted.

📱 Q.5 I do not have Aadhaar card. What should I do?

I would suggest you to get your Aadhaar card made at the earliest. For details visit https://uidai.gov.in


📱 Q.7 Where can I get my Aadhaar card linked with mobile number ?

Please visit any Airtel/Vodafone/Idea etc. retailer to complete the process. It means you have to visit retailer of the mobile telecom company to which you simply cards belongs to.

📱 Q.8 Do I need to pay for this?

There is no fee for linking Aadhaar with your number.
However, people are saying that they have been asked for fees to complete this process.If also you find it, then don't give any fees.Contact to government for any info & complain regarding it.

📱 Q.9 What is Biometric process?

Biometric verification is a process through which, a person can be uniquely identified basis fingerprints and details are fetched as per the information in Aadhaar database.

📱 Q.10 What will mobile telecom companies do with my Aadhaar number?

Aadhaar details will be updated in their records against your number.

📱 Q.11 What will happen to my previous details with telecom companies ?

All previous details will be overwritten with Aadhaar details.

📱 Q.15 I am an outstation customer. Where do I get my Aadhaar linked to my mobile number?

Currently, the Govt. Of India has not issued any instructions for outstation customers. I will try to update you if I get any info.when regulation is updated.

📱 Q.16 I am currently in roaming. How do I get my Aadhaar linked?

Customers in roaming customer need to get the Aadhaar verified in their respective home circle.

📱 Q.17 I am a corporate customer. Do I need to get Aadhaar verified?

Currently the directive is only for individual customers. I will try to keep you informed once regulation for corporate customers is issued by Govt. of India.However, it is advised to visit retailer or contact telecom companies for more info.

📱 Q.18. My name/address is different in my Aadhaar card. What should I do?

Your details will be updated in your mobile account as per the details available in Aadhaar.

📱 Q.19 Will I get any confirmation that my Aadhaar has been linked?

Yes. You will receive a confirmation SMS within 24 hours.

📱 Q.20 If I have multiple mobile numbers, do I have to link each of them separately?

Yes.Say for example you have 5 mobile numbers, then you have to link each of them separately whether they are of same companies or they are of different companies.

📱 Q.21 I am using a datacard and/or using the SIM in my data device (Tablet etc). Do I still need to link my Aadhaar number to these SIMs?

Yes

📱 Q.22 In case of Datacard, how will I receive the OTP for verification?

OTP will be sent on your registered alternate mobile number.

📱 Q.23 Do I have to carry my mobile number also for this process?

Yes. You will receive the verification code (OTP) on your Mobile that would be required to complete the process.

📱 Q.24 I have already given Aadhaar no. as my POI/POA while buying new connection. Why do I have to verify again?

a) If you have done biometric (given finger prints) along with Aadhaar at the time of taking connection, you do not have to do this activity again.

b) If Aadhaar was given only as an identity or address proof and no biometric was done, please visit your nearest sim card retailer to complete the process.
